    The BAND

FAUSTO AND THE SIXTEEN SIXTY MEMBERS COME FROM DIVERSE MUSICAL, CULTURAL, AND GENERATIONAL BACKGROUNDS

    Scott (Fausto) — drums

A long-time drummer, Scott has always loved music and has been involved in many bands and ensembles.  Scott moved from his home state of Indiana to Boston to be a part of the local music scene during the 1980's.  As drummer for the power pop group the "Puppet Rulers", he gained a Boston area following playing the local clubs and in the greater New England college circuit. Puppet Rulers made several recordings that received major market airplay and garnered some national interest. Scott maintains his energetic and simplistic approach to drumming and enjoys working with the members of the Fausto and Sixteen-Sixty band where he can continue to create the music people love and enjoy

Marta — lead singer and backup vocals

Music has been a part of Marta’s life from a young age. As a child, her parents would play songs by Lo Zecchino D’Oro during car rides, and it was there that she first discovered the beauty of songs. As she grew, she discovered her natural talent for singing, which only deepened her passion. Throughout middle school and high school, she honed her vocal skills as a member of the school chorus, even earning a spot in the honors chorus in middle school. Her musical tastes expanded as well, and her playlist today reflects her love for songs from various cultures, including Korea, Italy, Japan, Thailand, Spain, and more. Now studying vocal jazz performance at UMass and performing with Fausto and the Sixteen-Sixty, she not only sings alongside others who share her love for music, but uses her voice to build bridges between cultures.

Kevin — lead singer and backup vocals

Music was a constant in Kevin's family. Every night his father would play piano: ragtime and old standards. Everyone sang. In high school and college there were always bands to sing in or play in, and so many places to play: coffeehouses, pop-up gigs, dances. At the time, Kevin sang and studied jazz guitar. Now he mainly sings and has taken up the alto sax, playing mainly for his neighbors, ha ha.

Simone – Italian singer and backup acoustic guitar

Starting as church guitarist in one of the Bergamo’s oratori, shy singer at the teen age… becoming later founder and song writer of a hilarious band (Punto G), evolving to a beach strummer to enjoy guitar and voice with friends around a fire…

Passionate for the Italian cantautori of the 70s-80s, big fan of Zucchero Fornaciari, the first (and unique) bluesman of the Italian music, he touched the top of his musical expression singing Dune Mosse and other Italian Blue’s songs with the Fausto and the 1660 band.

Alberto — bass and backup vocals

Alberto studied classical double bass and earned a diploma in 1999 at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali di Reggio Emilia (Italy). Alberto had the opportunity to perform in youth orchestras conducted by Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Giuseppe Sinopoli and Myung-whun Chung. The passion for music and theater led Alberto to play other instruments: electric bass, guitar, mandolin and harmonicas! He is still figuring out what is his favorite!

    Rick — lead guitar

A native from the Boston area, Rick Scalise is a full time musician who has been performing in public since age 10. Rick is a graduate of Boston University where he received his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Composition, as well as his Masters degree in Composition. He was selected as solo pianist for the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and performed in Berlin, Austria, Prague, and Symphony Hall. His compositions include works for Piano, Voice, Cello, Violin, Chamber Ensemble, Chorus, String Orchestra, as well as Full Orchestra. In addition to these works, Rick has written a plethora of Pop, Experimental, and Rock music. His influences range from Rachmaninoff and John Williams to Pink Floyd and Ozzy Osbourne.

Luigi — acoustic guitar and backup vocals

Luigi's musical journey began at the tender age of 10, when he first embraced the classical guitar. Throughout his high school and college years, Luigi's passion for music saw him founding and performing with several garage bands. These bands, including “Complesso di colpa,” “Ramayana,” and “Le ronde,” a tribute to The Police, quickly captured the hearts of local music lovers, turning Luigi's garage into a landmark on the town's musical map. Luigi’s wish is to become a guitar jazz player when he retires, but now he has a lot of fun playing blues and rock with Fausto and the Sixteen-Sixty

    Alfredo — rhythm guitar

Alfredo discovered a passion for music at an early age. Growing up in a home full of the sounds of classical music, American rock and folk, ballads, boleros, Mexican music and various musical genres, Alfredo was attracted to the guitar from an early age. Throughout his adolescence, Alfredo spent hours practicing, perfecting and learning new styles. He received instruction from other guitarists and began to learn covers of his favorite bands, as well as music from various genres: Jazz, pop, Bossa Nova, Rock in Spanish, flamenco, Latin American folklore, among others. Also, he ventured into the study of the baroque flute. He puts heart and soul into each performance, with the idea of transmitting that taste for music to make the audience feel happy.

    Paolo — keyboards

Trained as a classical piano and organ player, Paolo discovered the emotion-stirring power of rock when he joined a high school band, which lead him to repute J.S. Bach the first hard rocker in musical history. After years afar from music, focusing on family and career in computer science research, he rediscovered the joy of playing when he bought a digital piano after moving to the US. Since then, he has worked on assimilating the rhythm of rock and nuanced harmonies of blues with his innate sense of melody rooted in the Italian tradition.
