Fausto & the 1660 originally came together as “Fausto’s Band” in 2019. The band was initially formed to perform Italian songs at events celebrating Italian culture and community. At the time, Scott, the only non-Italian member of the group, adopted the name Fausto to better fit in with the rest of the band – giving rise to the band’s first name.

Over time, with the inclusion of new members, the band has evolved into a multicultural ensemble that embraces a wide range of musical styles. Their repertoire now features a dynamic mix of Italian pop & blues, American pop & rock favorites, and, more recently, a touch of Latino music.

As a reflection of this evolution, the band renamed itself “Fausto & the 1660.” The name symbolizes the wide age range of its members and the vast array of musical traditions that inspire their performances. These traditions are deeply rooted in the rich and diverse cultural backgrounds of the band members. While Fausto is the only multi-generation American in the group, the rest of the members are either immigrants—from Italy and Mexico—or first-generation Americans. Each brings a wealth of musical experiences spanning genres, cultures, and generations.

This unique blend is what sets Fausto & the 1660 apart: their ability to connect with a variety of audiences through performances in English, Italian, and Spanish. Younger and older members collaborate to create music that resonates with listeners of all ages and backgrounds, bridging generations and cultures through their sound.

Over the years, Fausto & the 1660 have performed at numerous venues and events across the Lexington and Boston area. Highlights include events promoting the Italian language in Massachusetts, porch festivals, fundraisers, and Lexington’s annual Holi Festival, which draws over 2,000 attendees each year.
